Roundup: C&WP, Arkadin, Google, RIM, NTT America
By Patrick Nixon / Business News Americas
NTT America, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Japan's NTT Communications Corporation and a tier 1 global IP network service provider, has announced that the NTT Communications Global IP Network has achieved 600 Gbps of capacity on its transpacific network, making it among the highest capacity networks available to the Americas.
The jump from 500 Gbps to 600 Gbps of capacity in 2011 occurred within four months. In less than two years, NTT America has tripled its transpacific network capacity.
"Our deep understanding of the Asia-Pacific market and our robust routes within the region are several of the major competitive differentiators that contribute to NTT America's rapid growth," said Michael Wheeler, VP of NTT Communications Global IP Network with NTT America.
