A Denial of Service (DoS) attack is characterized by an explicit attempt by computer hackers to prevent legitimate users of a service from using that service.
As the number, intensity, and frequency of DoS attacks increase it is essential for businesses to protect themselves prior to an attack. DoS Attack Countermeasures uses network routing strength to trigger all the routers in the network with a routing update. The routing update actives a pre-configured static route to activate a black hole for the destination address.
The key benefit of DoS Attack Countermeasures is that it drops the DoS aggregated traffic load on the edge of the network. This now gives NTT Communications and the customer time to work the attack without the worries of collateral damage to other customers.
